Young lion from the gladiator school turned gentle as a lamb<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]When Porpus (\u00abLupus\u00bb in the original French album, which is the Latin for \u00abwolf\u00bb) is first mentioned, it’s unclear which is this gladiator with an unflattering reputation (he’s \u00aba beast\u00bb, laugh his comrades). But knowing the strokes of inspiration of Asterix’s masters, it’s easy to see that our very \u00abbeast\u00bb Porpus is no other than the Roman we see playing leapfrog with another gladiator! (In French, playing leapfrog is \u00abjouer \u00e0 saute-mouton\u00bb, which literally means \u00abjumping over sheeps game\u00bb. So the wolf has turned into a lamb!)<\/p>\n
