Can you say Oumpah-Pah? Oumpah-Pah the Redskin is the first series created by the dynamic duo Goscinny and Uderzo. All the ingredients of Asterix humour are in there, just in a different setting: 18th century America.
First published in Tintin magazine in April 1958, the series celebrates its 60th birthday this year. And Asterix is planning to celebrate his “older” brother’s birthday with a bang: the June issue of Astérix Max will feature a gallery of tributes to Oumpah-Pah by the biggest names in comics.
It kicks off a series themed “strong as a puma, our totem” that we’ll be bringing you in the magazine over the next few months. As Oumpah-Pah himself would say, “Yak yak yak!”
