The slaves are revolting … they’ve stolen Julius Caesar’s own galley. Seeking shelter in the little Gaulish village, they find it in crisis. Obelix has suffered dire effects from drinking the druid’s magic potion n the sly.
Can his friends get him cured by Absolutlifabulos, high priest of Atlantis? Enjoy all the thrills and spills of sea battles against the Roman navy!
In this album the author mingles several stories, including a quick trip to Atlantis, which come together at the end. The liking for the fantastic and the wondrous is increasingly evident.
In the weeks leading up to the album’s arrival, newspapers were filling up with a mystery that became quite agonising: what had happened to Obelix? In a drawing we could see Obelix’s breeches lying abandoned, leaving our hero’s friend Asterix all alone in the world. But fans were soon reassured, especially those lucky enough to meet Albert Uderzo during his tour of France at the end of 1996 when he set out to greet readers from all over the country.
The success of the album is without precedent in European publishing!
